Kathua, Mar 2: An RTI activist has accused authorities of department of posts of taking no action against an employee who has allegedly furnished fake documents for securing his job. The RTI activist has now approached the Governor seeking action against the erring employee.
According to the complaint, one Kishori Lal S/o Chhajju Ram R/o Amala Tehsil Hiranagar Kathua, produced fake date of birth certificate to secure his job in the Department of Posts.
Jaswant Singh Jamwal inhabitant of same village claimed that Department of Posts itself accepted the fraud through its reply to his RTI vide no.L-36-RTI-38/ow/2014 dated 30-6-2014 where Date of Birth of the accused has been mentioned as 25-03-1959 in one documents but 26-03-1954 in academic documents which was earlier confirmed by Government Middle School Amlala Zone Marheen through its letter no.MSA-64 dated 01-01-2014 but no action has been taken till date against him, as he was overage at the time of appointment in the department as BO in post office Amala.
Jaswant Singh alleged that officials of department of Posts were shielding the accused for corrupt motives and there could be more such cases of ineligible candidates given job without proper scrutiny of their documents.
Singh said Senior Superintendent of Posts Jammu division accepted the fault through RTI filed by him but no action has been taken against the accused. He demanded thorough inquiry into the scam and action against the accused under law.
Jaswant Singh approached high officials of Department of Posts, Vigilance, Crime Branch, Police and CID but got nothing than assurance to initiate inquiry. Frustrated RTI activist Jaswant singh Jamwal appealed Governor of Jammu & Kashmir to initiate fair inquiry against Kishori Lal and officials who connived with him in fraud.
