Rajouri, Mar 2: Following several complaints of road side /wrong parking causing hours long traffic jams in many areas in the vicinity of Gujjar Mandi Chowk in Rajouri town, district administration has decided to take some stringent measures against the defaulters from Monday next. In this connection a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) was held on Tuesday in the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) which was besides chaired by Shabir Ahmed Bhat, DC was attended by Rajeshwar Singh, SSP; Mumtaz Ali Choudhry, ADC; Jugal Sharma, ARTO; Madan Lal Sharma, Deputy SP traffic, Executive Engineer PWD(R&B) Sadeeq Wani; Chaman Gorkha, SHO; Tehsildar and Tehsildar HQs. All the officers after threadbare discussions took some measures to remove frequent traffic jams, for the safety of the passengers and for the smooth movement of traffic in the town. 'No Helmet-No Patrol' order will be issued soon to all the patrol pump owners for the safety of the two wheeler riders who don't wear helmets, said DC and added guidelines given by the Apex Court as for as traffic rules are concerned including no use of mobile phone while driving, use of seat belts etc will be implemented in the district strictly. Meanwhile, DRSC has identified several places for the parking purposes which include old district hospital for the parking of vehicles from Gujjar Mandi Chowk and Abdullha bridge areas, old DIET complex for Jawahar Nagar locality, new DIET complex and space opposite to district hospital has been identified for the parking by the people of Kheora market and district hospital. |
