Debate competition cum cultural programme organised | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Mar 2: A debate competition on 'Woman Education' cum cultural programme was organised by the District Information Centre (DIC) Ramban at Dak Bungalow, Batote today. As many as ten students undergoing a two month course in the Food Production through the J&K Tourism Department's Food Craft Institute (FCI) participated in the competition. Assistant Director Tourism Batote, Mohammad Tariq Naik was chief guest whereas Tourism Officer M L Koul presided over the function and R.K Kichlu was the guest of honour. The participants expressed their views on the topic 'Woman Education' before the judges including Tahir Mushtaq, Nitin Kumar Verma, Incharge FCI and Sheikh Tahbaan Akhter, Trainer, FCI. Appreciating the role of Department Information and Public Relations, J&K, the chief guest emphasised on the education of women and said that the standard and future of a society, country or a community could be assessed by the level of education of its women folk. He advised the local boys and girls who are at least Middle pass to go through the training in the Food Craft Institute to make their future either in the Tourism Industry or as an entrepreneur as there are ample opportunities in the field in this area having Patnitop, Batote and Sanasar as the famous tourist resorts. Sumaila Bano was adjudged as 1st while Subila and Asma Nakash secured 2nd and 3rd position in the debate competition. Besides this competition, a colourful cultural programme of singing and poetry was also presented by the local artists and students Singh and party and others which mesmerized the audience on the occasion. Later, commendation certificates and trophies were distributed among the students who participated and excelled in the Debate competition by the dignitaries. |
