CB books Real Estate owner for cheating people | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 2: The crime branch (CB) of state police has registered a case of cheating against Kulbhushan Gupta of Sansar Group of Industries for allegedly taking money from people but not giving them possession of houses. The Association of Florence Apartments, through Harmeen Kour Soodan, wife of Pawandeep Singh Soodan of Nanak Nagar, lodged a written report with CB, alleging therein that Ansal Buildwell Ltd, in partnership with Kulbhushan Gupta of Gandhi Nagar, launched a multi-storey housing project in the name of Florence Apartments, Satyam Road, Trikuta Nagar Extension, in 2008 and allured people to invest and purchase flats and commercial sites. The complainants booked flats as per the prescribed price list and plan of payment but till date they had not got legal possession of flats and commercial sites despite having made the payment 5-7 years back. That, the accused, even after receiving crores of rupees from complainants, had not completed the project and were finding ways and means to harass them by allegedly threatening them through their paid musclemen and depriving them of their right to possession of their respective flats in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy and in order to sell flats to other people on higher rates due to escalation of prices of real estate. During investigation, CB found that Kulbushan, being the owner of land and promoter of Florence Apartments, had associated Ansal Buildwell Ltd to carry out the construction of residential and commercial towers but after alluring the prospective buyers and receiving crores of rupees from them refused to provide them legal possession of the properties through registration of the sale deeds. It was further revealed that Ansal Buildwell Ltd had carried out the work smoothly and was ready to give possession to buyers but it was only Kulbushan who was creating hindrance by deliberately and intentionally keeping the project incomplete as he wanted to sell the properties to someone else on higher rates due to escalation of prices of real estate. It was because of his greed and ill intentions that he trapped innocent buyers through allurements and was now finding ways and means to illegally dispossess the prospective buyers by not giving them legal possessions and cancel the deals. Some of the buyers, who already possessed keys of their incomplete flats, were being allegedly threatened through his paid musclemen and goons to vacate the premises. It also came to fore that Kulbushan had cheated and duped about 65-70 senior citizens of Jammu, including complainants, who were in dire need of accommodation, by continuously harassing and depriving them of their right to property on one or the other pretext. He was alleged to have swindled crores of rupees. After completion of investigation, CB registered a case against Kulbhushanunder sections 420 and 406 of RPC. (JNF) |
