Lacking 'golden hour' help, Tanveer breathes his last at SKIMS | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Mar 1: In absence of emergency 'air-lifting' to premier health institute, the 28 year old youth Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh suffering from cardiac disorder as well as 'pulmonary edema' (water in his lungs) after his referral to SKIMS Soura Srinagar here today. His untimely death apparently has left locals brewing with anger and resentment. Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh s/o Abdul Gani Sheikh of Dadpath Kishtwar was allegedly denied 'airlifting' to premier health institute after he was admitted at District Hospital (DH) Kishtwar yesterday and was shifted to SKIMS Soura by road. As per the details available with "Early Times" critical Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh after denial of air lifting was shifted to Srinagar by his family members by road but the ailing youth who witnessed the delayed assistance during the 'golden hour' - crucial for one's survival succumbed to the fatality of his maultiple health ailment. Pertinently relatives, family members and people of Kishtwar demanding airlifting of sick youth had held protest in support of airlifting of the Tanveer but they failed to get the same. Meanwhile to press for the demand of air ambulance and better road connectivity, the youths of Kishtwar rising above the party lines and political affiliations have decided to constitute "Youth Action Committee" with an aim to launch an agitation for 'air ambulance service' to Kishtwar District and for better road connectivity through Batote-Kishtwar road. Youth Committee in today's meeting has resolved to wage a peaceful agitation in support of its demands by starting a chain hunger strike outside DC Office Kishtwar. |
