Essential Commodities sold on exorbitant rates | | | M S Nazki Early Times Report
Poonch, June 17: District Administration has failed to keep a check on the traders who were indulged in selling essential commodities to the gullible public on exorbitant rates during the auspicious month of Ramadhan in the district the sources said here today. Alleging that traders in the district were selling essential commodities like vegetables, milk, mutton etc on exorbitant rates to the gullible public during the auspicious month of Ramadhan Chairman Mendhar Youth Club, Advocate Nadeem Khan said that there has been no check on the erring traders in the district from the administration who according to sources were indulged in selling the commodities on higher rates. Nadeem urged the District Development Commissioner MH Malik to constitute a team of officers to keep a check on erring traders. Moreover, Early Times have received a number of phone calls in the district from its subscribes that most of LPG cylinders were used by traders in the market. Many people rue that their subsidy of LPG was not being deposited in their bank accounts. They said the condition of several areas like Balakot, Surankote, Mandi and Poonch was same as far the last few months their LPG subsidy was not being deposited in their respective bank accounts, they added. In an appeal to DDC, they urged for early redressal of their grievances. |
