Jammu, June 18: Last year government proposed Rs. 20 lakh for procurement of autoclave machine for four Primary Health Centers (PHCs) of Jammu district, but due to indifference of the Health department the essential machines are yet to be procured. The autoclave machines were needed at PHC Kotbhalwal, Pargwal, Mishriwala and Pallanwala. But till date the department has failed to procure such machines for the reasons best known to higher authority of the department. "These health institutions have a delivery point and more than four to five deliveries are conducted per month. But due to lackadaisical approach of the Health department the PHCs still lack manpower, basic facilities, and other things," sources said, Moreover, PHC Mishr-iwala runs without genset and same year government had proposed 10 KB Oscillator at an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakhs but not provided.
