Irregularities alleged in selection of ReTs in Sunderbani 6/18/2016 11:03:04 PM AB Sharma Early Times Report Jammu, June 18: Selection of ReT teachers in Sunderbani zone in Rajouri district has been marred by controversies like several other places across the state. From the year 2003 till date, higher authorities in the Zonal Education office in connivance with officials in Jammu have allegedly committed irregularities in the selection process depriving fair chance to the deserving and qualified candidates. Sources disclosed that norms have been brazenly violated over the years in the selection of ReT teachers in Lower hathal zone of Sunderbani and merit has been ignored to select candidates in lieu of huge pecuniary benefits. In the process, many deserving candidates with higher qualifications were left out and ineligible candidates were absorbed against vacant posts. Sources also alleged that many candidates who possessed degrees from clandestine universities were also absorbed ignoring meritorious candidates who possessed valid degrees for the universities of the state. Certain documents in possession of ET vindicate the allegations leveled by the left out deserving candidates that those having fake degrees had been appointed as ReT teachers. "Norms over the years have been thrown to wind by the Zonal Education Office by allowing the even those candidates whose results were withheld", said the sources. This irregularity was committed many times in connivance with some officials in Higher Education Department Jammu. The appointments have been made in a manner that have enabled the authorities to absorb the candidates with ease in their choicest schools, sources said, adding that in some schools posts were allowed to remain vacant after effecting transfers of the teachers to other schools. A couple of RTIs in the matter have not been responded till date by the concerned officials in the zonal office for obvious reasons.
