Early Times Report
Jammu, June 18: Swift change of events designed to inject poison in Jammu are landing Jammu into a perplex situation with the administration still unable to catch hold of a lead to understand sudden rise of disturbances taxing the mind of people.
Wondering to observe the latest trend of persons indulging into unheard of adventures of attacking religious places of one particular community being dubbed as mentally deranged and habitual druggist, sane segments of the society, express their astonishment saying that as to how such type of persons are targeting religious places one after the other consecutively.
A psychiatrist on the condition of anonymity told that mentally sick or for that matter a drunkard person can cause discord in the society by their unthoughtful gestures, but it is difficult rather impossible to believe the fashion in which both the episodes of sacrilegious took place in Jammu city. Why religious places of one community were targeted in the areas where people of different communities are living together displaying great sense of communal harmony and brotherhood which is an age old trait of Jammu heterogeneous society, said a retired doctor of eminence, adding that even now all communities have largely maintained calm and peace despite attempts of such undesirable elements of society and it should be an eye opener for those who believe in breaching peace and tranquility in Jammu.
Concluding that it was an exclusive act of unwanted elements of society will be a stretch of imagination to the extent that there are many insane persons and drug edicts surviving in the society in Jammu or anywhere in other parts of the State and country, a retired civil officer said, adding that never such people ever concentrated on specifically soft targets to launch attack on religious places straightway ignoring and leaving many other places located in both the crowded areas untouched to attack randomly.
Instead of whiling away the time and focussing too much on damage control exercise, the administration should put into gear its machinery of men and material to delve deep to find out the causes or forces, if any, behind the scene instrumental for shifting their anti India stance from Kashmir to Jammu and adopting new modus operandi to flare up communal tension in Jammu to carry out their heinous designs, said a crime reporter.
He said that there is a well established intelligence network meant to collect and consolidated inputs from various quarters and inform concerned administrative authorities well in advance to take necessary measures for warding off untoward incidents aimed at dividing communities and flaring up communal temperature. After all what for all this is if the authorities responsible for maintaining peace as well as law and order in their areas are taken by surprise to swing into action in a hush hush.
