SRINAGAR, June 18: Launched with much fanfare that it would generate a revenue of whopping 25,000 crores the Roshni scheme has so for fetched not more than Rs 77 crores to the state ever since its inception. Replying to a question posed by Mubarak Gul of National Conference, Minister for Revenue Basharat Bukhari today said that 2, 29,691 kanals of land has been transferred in Jammu & Kashmir. The minister said that 50,157 beneficiaries have availed from the scheme launched by former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. The reply of the minister created furore in the House with members cutting across party lines raising protest that the scheme has failed. They demanded that a probe should be carried out so that the reasons for meagre revenue generated under the scheme are spelt out. Following this the minister assured the house that the matter would be probed. Speaker of Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta also directed the government to probe the matter. "An amount of Rs. 77, 05, 65,989 has been realized on this account in the state. This includes an amount of Rs. 500 realized from Bilal Ahmad Wani and Tariq Ahmad Wani residents of Gojwara. The Jammu and Kashmir Land Records Management Agency (JaKLaRMA), a nodal agency of Revenue department has outsourced the activities of this project," said Bukhari. In the Jammu division 2, 10,398 kanals of land has been transferred under the Roshni scheme with the number of beneficiaries being 39,829. Poonch district leads among all the districts with 65,597 kanals of land being transferred to 3,171 beneficiaries. In the Jammu district 44,915 kanals of land have been transferred to 7,933 beneficiaries. In the Doda district 35,359 kanals of land have been transferred to 7,741 beneficiaries. In the Ramban district 18384 kanals of land have been transferred to 2709 beneficiaries. In the Udhampur district 10,599 kanals of land have been transferred to 1477 beneficiaries. In the Kishtwar district 10,049 kanals of land have been transferred to 6,122 beneficiaries. In the Kathua district 9,323 kanals of land have been transferred to 1814 beneficiaries. In the Reasi district 7,104 kanals of land have been transferred to 4,962 beneficiaries. In the Rajouri district 6,529 kanals of land have been transferred to 2,460 beneficiaries. In the Samba district 2,537 kanals of land have been transferred to 1440 beneficiaries. In the Kashmir division 19,293 kanals of land have been transferred to 10,328 beneficiaries. Bandipora district leads in Kashmir with 6,415 kanals of land being transferred to 5,914 beneficiaries. In the Pulwama district 3,462 kanals of land have been transferred to 1,255 beneficiaries. In the Budgam district 3,214 kanals of land have been transferred to 989 beneficiaries. In Kupwara district 3,128 kanals of land have been transferred to 1082 beneficiaries. In the Anantnag district 963 kanals of land have been transferred to 253 beneficiaries. In the Ganderbal district 579 kanals of land have been transferred to 210 beneficiaries. In the Kulgam district 433 kanals of land have been transferred to 181 beneficiaries. In the Shopian district 386 kanals of land have been transferred 223 beneficiaries. In Baramulla district 382 kanals of land have been transferred to 111 beneficiaries. In the Srinagar district 327 kanals of land have been transferred to 110 beneficiaries. |
