All SCs, STs MLAs must resign from JK Assembly: SMP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 18: Lambasting representatives of SCs and STs in state assembly, Social Movement Party (SMP) today their resignation for their failure to defend constitutional rights of communities. Addressing the media persons, Ashok Basotra, National General Secretary, SMP alleged that the present PDP-BJP Coalition Government is working against the interests of the common masses as well as employees of the J&K State. "This act of BJP-PDP Government is being questioned by the common masses at large", he said, adding that Constitution of India provides that the opportunity is a fundamental right of all the citizens of India,-but the present Coalition Government is using this policy otherwise to deprive under privileged communities. He further expressed that democracy is a form of Government in which due and adequate representation must-be given to all the sections of the society and no section should be deprived of its due share. He was accompanied by other leaders of SCs, STs and OBC communities. |
