JAMMU, June 18: Open State Six Red Ball (prize money) Snooker Tournament shall start tomorrow at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here under the banner of J&K Billiards and Snooker Association. The event shall be declared open by president of the Association, Sanjeev Gupta in the presence of other office bearers and senior players. Around 50 players have already submitted their entries with the organising committee, which is considered to be a positive response. The competition in such format (Six Red Ball) is being organised for the first time at the state level by the Association. "The game has got different playing rules formulated by the Billiards and Snooker Association of India, so accordingly the technical team has been trained. Players have also been briefed about the laid down rules," informed organising secretary of the Tournament, Jaideep Manocha. Important to mention here that the winner of the event shall get a prize money of Rs 10,000 while runners-up to be presented with Rs 5,000. Other Rs 2500 prizes have been announced for those reaching the semifinals stages. |
