JAMMU June 18 : Duty Magistrate, Jammu, Parveen Pandoh has granted six-day police remand of the accused who had a few days back indulged in the alleged desecration of the highly revered religious place at Roop Nagar here. Accused Yasir Affaz, son of Kher Din of Shiva, Doda, was arrested by police under sections 295, 295-A, 353 and 506 of RPC.Police today produced him in the court, , seeking his remand. After going through his CD file, the duty magistrate observed that investigation was at its initial stage and grounds enumerated in the application seeking police remand were well found. He then remanded him to police custody for six days.The court also informed the accused about his legal right to consult and be defended by the lawyer of his own choice and in case he had no means to do so, one would be provided to him on government expenses and directed IO to expedite the investigation and get the accused medically examined under rules.
