He has reportedly given clean chit to Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof RD Sharma. Akther has apparently lauded Sharma for black listing the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP) in JU campus. Akhtar, who was asked by the Chief Minister to look into the matter after BJP ministers in her cabinet, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav and many BJP national spokespersons lambasted RD Sharma for his dictatorial attitude and demanded his dismissal.
