EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, June 14 : In a clear yet oblique reference to Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and his associates in the state, Union Minister and J&K Incharge of Congress Prithvi Raj Chouhan today minced no words in showering accolades on the state Congress chief Prof Saif-u-din Soz. Hitting hard without naming Soz's detractors, he said that some people want to malign the image of Congress in this state and they were not tolerating the achievements of Pradesh Congress President Saif-ud-Din Soz. Cop held for attempted rape

EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, June, 14: A police constable was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a widow at Gursai in Mendhar, Poonch, today. He was identified as Nissar Ahmad. Police sources said Nissar allegedly barged into the widow's house when she was all alone and tried to rape her. The woman cried for help and hearing her screams, her neighbours rushed to her rescue, the sources added. Nissar was captured by the people and handed over to Gursai police station. EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 14: Five Maruti van-borne criminals were today arrested by police with lethal weapons near Akhnoor. Police intercepted a van (3468/JKD) near Akhnoor. EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 14: Seven persons, including two minor girls, were today killed and 38 others wounded in four road mishaps on the Kathua-Patnitop stretch of the national highway. A video coach (JK02G/6807) skidded off the road near Patnitop and landed into a gorge at about 2.45 pm, resulting in the death of four persons and injuries to 31 others.
