Jammu, Mar 5: The Governor's rule is gaining popularity across the state with every passing day. Governor N. N. Vohra's decision, for example, to terminate 100 absent doctors has won widespread appreciation.
A cursory glance over the decision taken against the absent doctors, who have been enjoying safe havens in foreign countries or in private practice for years together despite being employee of Health department, was contemplated by popular government many years back.

Jammu, Mar 5: The BJP may announce a slew of Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) hinted by the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti shortly probably after the Parliament session.
According to sources, the central leadership of the BJP is considering the CBMs they may announce probably on account of two considerations.

Jammu, Mar 5: The contractual appointments of Assistant Professors in University of Jammu have come under question with people accusing the university violating UGC guidelines of 2009.
Sources informed Early Times that for each academic session, University of Jammu invited applications for selection of contractual Assistant Professors in various departments and also for the offsite campuses of University.
"Despite UGC regulations of 2009, Minimum Standard Procedure (MSP) certificate was not sought and Ph.D candidates were also selected for the posts, who had not qualified National Eligibility Test (NET)", sources alleged.

JAMMU, Mar 5: Following the recent reshuffle in Police Department, three senior officers were taken aback by their transfers to 'undesired' places while two others, who were almost sure of their postings at the places of their choice, were not even touched.
While all the five had been assured by police headquarters (PHQ) of choice postings, the transfer list startled them and made them jump back in surprise.
A DIG, who had been serving in Kashmir since long, was assured of a posting in Jammu region, but he was posted at PHQ. This disappointed him because he had never thought of such an 'insignificant' posting.

JAMMU, Mar 5: The SHO of a police station at Reasi was transferred over a 'trivial' issue only to adjust a 'blue-eyed' Inspector in his place.
While the SHO was shifted and attached with DPL, Reasi, by a senior police officer on the plea that he had 'disobeyed' his orders, the fact is that he had tried to find fault with him only to replace him with the 'blue-eyed' Inspector. Along with the SHO, a Sub-Inspector was also transferred from the police station to some other place, according to police sources.
