Mutfi snake, Mehbooba crocodile: NC leader
5/14/2010 11:50:19 PM
AGENCIES SRINAGAR, May 14: Political assaults between two rivals National Conference and PDP on various issues have been a common thing but calling names to each other started off late is now becoming a new trend. In an attack on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership, the ruling National Conference (NC) on Friday described PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayed as "snake" and its president Mehbooba Mufti as "crocodile." Senior NC leader Sharief-ud-Din Shariq, also a Member Parliament (MP), accused Sayed of "of playing a role of 'Asteen ka samph (Snake which bites its master) and 'mukhbir' (informer) to dig a grave for Kashmir's individuality and identity." "Mufti's role in the State Subject Bill and Permanent Residence (disqualification) Bill are black examples of his deeds. Using might and money, Mufti made an attempt to pass bills amidst din in the state Assembly," alleged Shariq, a senior NC leader. He alleged that Jammu and Kashmir were put on the path of bloodshed by Mufti Sayed. "When Mufti Sayed was the Home Minister of India, he had a hand in the bloodshed in Kash...

PDP's pro active strategy on Self Rule pursued with sense of 'timing?
5/14/2010 11:49:35 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 14: Largest opposition party PDP and its leadership may well be indulging in routine bickering and political brick-bats with ruling coalition, mainly its rival National Conference on smaller issues but it has engaged itself consistently for the last one fortnight on a 'bigger task' in Kashmir valley- propagating and educating people at grass root levels about its Self Rule formula for resolution of Kashmir issue. The leadership is pursuing pro actively not merely in the shape of giving statements but actually doing some 'work' on the ground to get through the message of their political slogan for Kashmir right up to a common man in village. 5/14/2010 11:47:29 PM
RUSTAM EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 14: "This month, the International Centre for Peace Initiatives published a book called The Final Settlement: Restructuring India-Pakistan Relations. Govt promises skies, on ground nothing is visible
5/14/2010 11:47:08 PM
SARITA JAMWAL EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, May 14: There can be no better instance of double speak and hollow intentions of the NC led coalition government in terms of what it 'avows' for tourism promotion in Jammu region. Ironical but true that Jammu still faces step motherly treatment on the ground. A matter of coincidence it may be, but only substantiates this allegation that government today decided to start air safaris for high end visitors to woo tourists to newer destinations but miserably failed to kickstart the famous Mounghari Mela in Udhampur district with zeal and fanfare it deserved. While the government (Minister of state for tourism Nasir Aslam Wani) remained busy with...
