The restaurants and eatery outlets have been brazenly violating the guidelines under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as far as use of Ajinomoto salt is concerned. The excessive use of the salt has caused headaches, chest pain, sweating, flushing while some even develop breathing problems and swelling of the throat", said an employee of the concerned department . Pertinently, food additives are a common part of our food products for enhancing the taste but it is clearly mentioned in the guidelines of the GMP, how much quantity of food additives can be useful in foods meant for human consumption. District officer Kathua, said that after the government communiqué we have collected various sample of Maggi and also banned the sale of the product. Repeated attempts to contact Controller of D&FCD, Nazir Ahmed Wani went in vain. |
