Early Times Report JAMMU, June 9: The former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah who is braving Jammu heat has stated that a "leader must lead from the front.' Farooq visited Jammu when the crisis is almost over. This reflects Farooq does not believe in what he says. He should have been in Jammu when army was marching in the streets of the winter capital. But this is not something new for Farooq. He has been doing it from the very beginning. In 1984 when his brother-in-law, Late GM Shah was conspiring to topple his government, he was "enjoying the company of a Bollywood actress." In early 90s when his workers were being killed across Kashmir, Farooq was in London playing golf. He did not even utter a single word to show his concern over the development. Farooq, in fact has never led from the front. He has always played Mr Second. In the hay days of militancy, he would fire paper missiles towards Pakistan instead of taking tangible measures for improving the situation in the troubled state. Fortunately nobody in New Dehli or Islamabad took his salvos seriously and the sub-continent averted a fourth war. |
