Early Times Report

Srinagar, June 10: General Officer Commanding (GOC) Lieutenant General Subrata Saha said that the incidents like Sopore are potent enough to cause a disturbance in security situation and make the forces to be on tenterhooks to deal the situation of any nature.
According to news agency, GOC Lt Gen Saha today said that investigations into the Sopore incident wherein one person was killed on Tuesday, have been ordered and that once the investigations are completed, it could be ascertained whether the attack was a militant one or not.
While talking to reporters on sidelines of a function organized here today, he said, "It can be revealed through the investigations that whether the attack in Sopore was done by any terror group or was an attack of the criminal nature." He however added that such incidents disturb the security situation of the region.
When asked over the recent reports of fire incidents in forests along the Line of Control (LoC), GOC termed it premature to comment whether such incidents would relate to the infiltration bids by the militant groups who waiting to enter this part of Kashmir.
Lieutenant General Subrata Saha refused to comment over whether the attacks like that of Mynmar can be conducted by the security forces on militant groups in Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK).
"Manipur incident (strikes in Myanmar) is according to the situation and circumstances there. I would not like to connect one with the other. The security situations at every place are different. One cannot relate one incident taking place at a particular area to that of the other. There are different methods which are implemented in different places," Saha asserted.
