Early Times Report
Jammu, June 10: The doctors at Central Veterinary hospital Talab Tillo have allegedly been treating ailing animals very casually, evoking resentment from the owners of pets. A doctor made the owner of an injured pet wait for nearly twenty four hours, which are otherwise very crucial for safety, for a surgery but on the second day referred him to RS Pura hospital. Hardesh Kumar of Sainik Colony informed Early Times that on Monday morning, he visited Central Veterinary hospital Talab Tillo, with his injured cat, which had suffered an injury, following a car accident on Sunday evening. "The pet had left food and water and on Monday morning I reached Talab Tillo hospital at around 8:30 AM. After x-ray of the cat, the doctor present in the Surgery wing, Dr. Mayanudin said, if you would have reached at 8 AM, surgery would be done but its late now, come tomorrow", Hardesh Kumar said. He further said that for one day, his entire family including two daughters remained in complete distress as the pet was sinking. "On Tuesday morning, once again I reached the hospital at 8 AM but got very irritated to find that Dr. Mayanudin was absent and he reached only at 9 AM. Instead of giving some treatment, Dr. Mayanudin, referred our pet to RS Pura hospital, saying that they had no equipments for such surgery", he said. Accusing the doctors for being very casual, Hardesh Kumar said, "If they had to refer our pet to RS Pura, why not they referred on very first day. Though the friendly doctors at RS Pura hospital done the surgery but still the pet is not drinking or eating something and it might be due to delay in operation". Dr. Mayanudin said that to administer anesthesia on the pet, there needed fasting for 12 hours but it was not. "As the condition of pet was normal but on the second say, swelling had increased and we had short of equipments for the needed surgery required, so we had referred to RS Pura", he said. Contrary the statement of Dr. Mauyanudin, owner of pet Hardesh Kumar said that the cat had already fasting for nearly 16 hours, when they reached hospital. Medical Superintendent of CV hospital Talab Tillo, Dr. YD Sharma said that though they have equipments available but not for major surgeries. He assured that he would take stock of entire situation and passed necessary directions to all the doctors. |
