6/10/2015 12:42:23 AM
ET Report
JAMMU, June 9: BJP ministers and legislators are under constant pressure from Sangh Parivar organizations not to surrender the interests of nationalist people in the State.
The Sang Parivar organsiations including VHP, Bajrang Dal and other organizations have asked the BJP ministers and Legislators not to give up their stand on a separate AIIMS for Jammu, construction of Tawi Lake as well as equitable development of all three regions of the State.
Taking a serious exception to the BJP ministers stoic silence on the AIIMS issue which was hijacked by the opposition parties, the Sangh top functionaries in the State as well as national level have asked the BJP leadership not to be calm on this prestigious issue as it will be inimical to the interests of the Party which has fought for the Jammu's rights right from 1947 and laid the foundation of a nationalist movement from Jammu in 1953 under the leadership of founder president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh Shama Parasad Mookerjee and founder of Praja Parishad Movement Pt Prem Nath Dogra. According to sources some leaders at Delhi and Jammu have shown their serious concern the way the issue of AIIMS was being tackled by the leadership in BJP which failed to take a principled stand on issue. It said the soft policy of the party over the issue is going to harm the interests of BJP which was given a massive mandate by nationalist people in Jammu and the Party could not afford to ignore these people.
Sources said leaders from RSS have asked the BJP any more delay will harm the interests of the people in the State and mar the future prospects of the Party. The Sangh leaders summoned some BJP ministers and asked them to clarify the stand before the public as BJP could not afford to remain silent over those issues for which Party ahs always taken a principled stand since 1953.
Sources said Sangh leadership also asked BJP Ministers and MLAs not send feelers that the Party has ignored the people after tasting the power and send a strong message that BJP can sacrifices hundreds of governments but not the interests of nationalistic people of Jammu who have been on the fore front of every nationalist movement in the State right from 1947.
However Sangh leaders have at the same time advised the Party that it should show its total commitment for the equal development of all three regions of the State and should not give a feeling that the party is biased towards one region or the other. Sources said BJP ministers and legislators have also been asked by Sangh leadership to work amidst the people and listen their problems and find out the solution to those problems which remained unsettled during NC-Congress rule.
Sources said Sangh leadership have conveyed the BJP that with its stoic silence on the issue of AIIMs and Jammu lake it has given Congress and NC the ground which have over the years exploited the people with one slogan or the other.
