Early Times Report

KATHUA, June 9: Realizing that BJP leadership has lost credibility due to its confusing and spineless stand on important issues, the AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) has started mass mobilization programme from Kathua, the bastion of BJP.
Kathua is home district of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh and Health Minister, Choudhary Lal Singh. Therefore, the ACC has decided to take on BJP stalwarts on their home turf.
Kathua is also part of the Parliamentary constituency of Dr Jatindra Singh, Minister of State in the PMO.
ACC, which is leading the agitation against shifting of AIIMS to Kashmir Valley, "has deliberately selected Kathua for its campaign because it wanted to give open challenge to BJP top leaders in their home towns," a committee member told Early Times.
He said the committee received overwhelming response because majority of the people were of the view that BJP leadership has betrayed people of Jammu region for power, so it was high time to teach them a lesson for the betrayal.
At Kathua, Deputy Chief Minister was target of ACC members who said that due to his weak approach that AIIMS was shifted to Kashmir Valley.
Meanwhile, according to a handout issued by the ACC, a delegation visited Samba and Kathua districts today. The delegation was led by Abhinav Sharma, president of the ACC and president of Jammu Bar Association. Other members included B S Salathia, senior advocate and former president of the Jammu Bar Association, Daljeet Singh, president Young Lawyers Association, Pradeep Majotra, vice president Young Lawyers Association, and Ravinder Sharma Advocate.
