Early Times Report Jammu, June 9: In a bid to keep the flock together and for show of strength, the third front of rebels in State Congress is going to hold a convention in Jammu on June 20. Leader of Congress Legislature Party in the Upper House, Jugal Kishore and other senior Congress leaders in the third front, including Janak Raj Gupta, Gulchain Singh Charak, Abdul Ghani Vakil, Arvinder Singh Micky and others are key organizers of the proposed convention, which will be held at Jammu. Even as the convention is being convened to officially discuss the issues of Jammu and failures of the PDP-BJP Government on all fronts, sources said that main objective of the get together is the show of strength by third front of rebels, who are up in arms against the PCC president G A Mir. Ever since the formation of new PCC by the incumbent president G A Mir and subsequent revolt by those who have been virtually sidelined in the organizational structure, only small and indoor meetings were being convened by these rebels. The show of strength was also necessitated in view of the reports that a few rebels were mulling to join the mainstream by having some patch-up with the PCC president, who is also learnt to have assured to suitably accommodate those joining his camp, sources said. The proposed convention also assumes more significance in view of the fact that both rebels and PCC president are supposed to chalk out their further course of action against each other after the event. The fate of three rebels, who have been served show cause notices by the disciplinary action committee for their alleged anti-party activities, also depends upon the success or failure of the June 20 convention, sources informed. In view of these facts and the significant developments associated with the success or failure of the event, all eyes are set on the proposed convention. |
