Early Times Report Jammu, June 9: Office bearers of Rajouri based SANGARSH, a Non Government Organization (NGO) have expressed their concern and anguish over the alleged scholarship scam and other misappropriations, involving some high ranking officials, in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) and demanded from Chief Minister who is Chancellor of said university to hold Judicial inquiry to investigate scholarship scam/financial embezzlements etc. Sangarsh , a civic movement struggling for justice, equality, peace, prosperity and brotherhood, office holders lambasted that BGSBU has now turned into the store house of scandals instead of institution of learning and excellence. Dr Suresh, General Secretary Sangarsh while showing grave concern over the silence of Vice Chancellor on the issue said, "Involvement of Registrar in the scam can't be ruled out as all administrative and financial matters have to be passed through his table and nothing wrong (embezzlement of funds/money) can happen without his involvement/consent". He further questioned the eligibility of Rashid Choudhry, Registrar who is on the post since the inception of the BGSBU and has appealed to Vice Chancellor to make public his extension orders which is open violation of University's rules and regulations/status. "Inquiry committee constituted by the BGSBU is mere an eye wash and to save the big guns, he said and added the Chief Minister, who is Chancellor of BGSBU, should conduct Judicial inquiry to investigate scholarship scam/financial embezzlements, back door appointments, no recruitment policy etc. Bhusan Sharma, Illyas Ahmed, Himanshu Bhargav and other members of Sangarsh said that they will not allow any body to spoil the careers of the students and BGSBU is simply not an institution as regard it as the blessings of Great Sufi Saint and any body involved in damaging its sanctity will be dealt with iron hands. |
