Early Times Report JAMMU, June 9: "Bal Chetna Shivirs" were organised by Art of Living for students of Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas at Leh and Kargil both marking the advent of Art of Living teachings in the Ladakh region of the state. A large number of children, studying between class Ist to 12th, appox. 1200 in numbers participated in this shivir. In the camp, the children were taught by the Art of Living volunteer, Jammu Chapter Suman Sharma concentration techniques by way of Meditation for a relaxed and stress-free mind .They were also taught yoga and pranayam techniques for a better physical and mental health. The children were also briefed about the knowledge points enunciated by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a renowned spiritual Guru, humanitarian leader and the founder of International Art of Living Foundation largest nongovernmental and volunteer based Organization, having presence across the world in 152 countries which highlight the importance of healthy living, cleanliness and hygiene, along with the values of compassion for environment and respect for their teachers and elders. Similar camps were also organized in Jammu region at different Government Primary and Middle Schools in Talab Tillo, Sarwal, Muthi, Roop Nagar and Janipur areas, Private and NGO run Schools at Channi Himmat, Nagrota, Bishnah, Bhagwati Nagar and Kathua. |
