Sainik School Nagrota begins its north zone campaign with a bang 6/10/2015 12:41:06 AM Early Times Report Jammu, June 9: Sainik School Nagrota scored an emphatic win over Sainik school Sujanpur Tira (HP) in Volleyball by defeating the latter in three straight sets 25-13, 25-16, 25-10 on the first day of the North Zone Inter Sainik School Sports Meet-2015 being hosted by Sainik School Nagrota. Cadet Sahil Manhas (Captain) of Sainik School Nagrota smashed his way through the defence of the opponents and helped his team to score this big win. The first league match of Hockey ended in a draw as the hosts Sainik School Nagrota took on Sainik School Kunjpura (Haryana). Cadet Dharam Deo Yadav scored the equalizer at 38th minute for SS Nagrota to level the score. It was also an equally productive day for Sainik School Ghorakhal (Uttrakhand) who managed to deliver a shocker to defending champions Sainik School Kunjpura by a narrow margin of two points in Basketball (39-37) and also trounced Sainik School Kapurthala by 2-0 in Sub-junior Football. In Junior Football, however, Sainik School Sujanpur Tira (HP) pulled off a win with a lone goal scored by Cadet Haridas against Sainik School Kapurthala (Pb). In the morning session of the second day, Inter Zonal Volleyball Champions Sainik School Kunjpura defeated Sainik School Ghorakhal in straight sets 25-17, 25-06, 25-16 while Sainik School Kapurthala emerged winners with a comfortable margin in Hockey (2-0) and Basketball (92-34). Following a tough fight, the Football match between Sainik School Kunjpura and Sainik School Nagrota ended in a draw. Cadet Molu Prasad of Sainik School Nagrota bagged First Prize in Hindi Debate Competition held in the School Auditorium and enabled the hosts to win the trophy in the literary event.
