Placement Committee, MIER College organizes Placement Drive for Students

JAMMU, June 9: A two days placement drive was organized at the MIER College, by the Alumni and Placement Committee, MIER College with an objective of providing job opportunities to its students in some of the best schools across states.
A placement team from the Kalgidhar Trust, Himachal Pradesh, visited the college for recruiting B.Ed., B.Ed. Spl. and M.Ed. students for their schools in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. Dr S S Advani, Director Human Resources, Kalgidhar Trust, was the resource person. The Kalgidhar Trust has 130 English medium schools in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh in addition to two universities and recruits 500 fresh teachers every year for their schools.
Dr Renu Gupta, Director MIER, Dr Adit Gupta, Jt. Director MIER, Dr Annie Kaul, HOD B.Ed.General, Rohnika Sharma HOD B.Ed Special and faculty members along with the students of MIER College of Education attended the event.
Dr Renu Gupta welcomed everybody and highlighted the achievements of alumni of MIER, who are well placed in the profession and are associated with institutions nationwide as well as outside the country. She further added "we not only focus on academics but inculcate life skills and values in our students, so that they are professionally equipped for the field."
Dr S S Advani briefly oriented the students and faculty members about the Kalgidhar Trust and its mission and vision followed by a video presentation. Students were enthusiastically involved in the question answer session.
After the orientation 28 students were interviewed and 13 students were selected from all the three wings of the college i.e. B.Ed. General, B.Ed. Special and M.Ed. They were given provisional appointment letters to join the Kalgidhar Trust by 20th September, 2015 at their head office, Baru Sahib, H.P. Dr Arun Gupta, Director MIER Group of Institutions, congratulated the selected students, appreciated the efforts of the Alumni and Placement Committee and assured greater support to the College of Education in delivering outstanding value to the current and prospective students of the B.Ed. and M.Ed. programs at MIER.
