State NCP celebrates 16th foundation day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 10: Leaders of state National Congress Party celebrated 16th Foundation day of the party under the president ship of State NCP President and Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh. Addressing the gathering, Thakur Randhir Singh said keeping its separate identity intact, the party would continue to work for strengthening Nationalist and secular forces and will oppose communal and castiest forces in the country. State NCP demands the fresh delimitation commission from Govt of India to do justice to the regions of Jammu & Ladakh which are clamoring for justice for last so many years. He further said that all the successive governments in Jammu & Kashmir have "forsaken the rights of Jammu and Ladakh regions and of the refugees of 1947,1962 , 1965 and 1971 and Kashmiri migrants who left their homes and hearths and also the refugees of West Pakistan who are living in the worst conditions after the Independence in Jammu & Kashmir" . The working committee passed a resolution and demanded from the State Govt to stregthen the Right to Information Act. State NCP demanded from the Chief Minister enforcement of Right to Information Act as passed by the Parliament and declare Jammu & Kashmir a Herbal State like chattisgarh , Uttrakhand where the growers are being provided 20% subsidy by the National Horticulture Board, Govt. of India and 20% matching grant from the Local Govt. He further demanded that minimum wages act be implemented in the State and there should be proper management of Provident fund of the workers. He urged the state govt that stringent measures be taken for eradication of corruption to ensure that benefits of schemes reach to the people at the earliest. State NCP urged the state govt for appointment of honest and upright officials in the RTI Commission and strengthening of Accountability Commission and Vigilance Commission which is a non-functional. |
