Kishtwar police rescued 13 person, including infant from snowbound Sinthan Top

Kishtwar Dec 13: After over five hour long operation at snowbound Sinthan Top situated at an altitude of 12500 feet on Kishtwar-Srinagar National Highway, team of Chatroo Police Station of Kishtwar District rescued 13 passengers including an infant who were trapped due to fresh snowfall in upper reaches of Kishtwar and adjoining Anatnag District of Kashmir Provence.
As per the details available with "Early Times" two vehicles bearing registration No. JK06-8083 (Sumo) and JK17-1347 (Travera) with 13 people on board including nine male, one female, one six month old infant and two drivers were on its way to Kishtwar when their vehicle were trapped at around 12.30 am on Tuesday due to slippery road conditions and accumulation of around two and a half feet snow on the top as well as on road.
When contacted Additional SP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom said that the two vehicles were trapped about one Kilometer from Sinthan Top towards Kishtwar added that Chatroo police received a call from one of the trapped passenger at around 12.30 AM requesting for the help. He said that after receiving the help call, a team of Chatroo police lead by SHO Inayat Hussain under the supervision of SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Kumar Wazir launched a rescue operation. He said that police with the help of private JCB started road clearing and to make approach road up to the trapped vehicles. He said that at around 6 AM today, the police team get an access up to the trapped passengers and shifted them to safer place from where they were dispatch to their homes. He said that Kishtwar police will take up the matter with Anantnag Police so that no vehicle will be allowed to move on this road without getting the snow clearance.
