Rajouri, Dec 13: In-charge Chingus Police Post reportedly got injured while pacifying the villagers clashing over a land dispute here today, later critically injured police officer was hospitalized at District Hospital (DH) Rajouri for his head injuries. According to reports, the incident took place in village Chattiyar under jurisdiction of Rajouri Police Station when the family members of nomad Mattu started construction at about 10 pm on Monday on the land for which the family had a dispute with their neighborer namely Mohd Shabir. "The two sides had verbal scuffle which later took ugly turn when two sides clashed, sources said, adding, "some locals called the police and police team from Chingus Police Post headed by in-charge sub inspector Mohd Rafiq reached to spot at about 11pm." "I/C P/P Mohd Rafiq intervened into clashing parties to pacify them but in the process he was hit by the family of Mohd Shabir with a stick, reports said and added that injured police officer was immediately rescued and evacuated to District Hospital (DH) Rajouri for treatment and is stated to be out of danger. Meanwhile police have registered case against two confronting parties under FIR No.763/16 u/s 307,341,147,148,332 &353 RPC. Police have arrested Mohd Shabir while further investigation is in progress, said a police officer. |
