Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 13: The SHO of a police station in Jammu district is alleged to have struck a deal with some of the murder accused to drop their names from the case. A man was murdered in a Jammu area a few days back. A case in this regard was registered at the concerned police station. During investigation, police came to know the names of all the accused who were involved in the incident. Police sources said when the SHO started tightening the noose around the accused, some people approached him, requesting him to book only one accused in the case and drop the names of all others. Though some politicians also spoke to him in this regard, but he did not give his consent, the sources added. "The accused party then directly met the SHO and struck a deal with him as a result of which he has started the legal exercise of booking only one accused in the case and dropping the names of all others," sources alleged, saying the officer had dared to help the accused even as his seniors were in knowhow of the matter. Sources alleged that carrying forward his investigation in the case, the SHO had become soft towards the accused. He was also maintaining a pressure on the victim's family so that they could not create problems in the case as and when it 'becomes known to them that police have dropped the names of accused in the case', sources alleged. |
