Himalayan College organises Swachh Bharat Abhyan 12/13/2016 11:25:11 PM Jammu, Dec 13: NSS unit of Himalayan College of Education today organized "Swachh Bharat Mission". The events involved in the mission were pledge ceremony, campus cleanliness drive, awareness rally, park-cleanliness drive and awareness campaign. A sizeable number of NSS volunteers participated in these events. The programme organizers namely Hamid Malik, Farid Ahmed and Noreen Kouser motivated the students and people of the area to maintain hygiene and to clear their surroundings. NSS students went to clean the campus first and then moved to the park of Thandikassi village and cleaned the areas with great zeal and zenith. The pupil also made the people of that area aware about cleanliness and hygiene. NSS volunteers cleaned various grounds, streets and the several areas of the park and campus. Many non NSS volunteers also joined in and helped to clean the campus and park as well. A special interactive session with the villagers was also held in order to make them aware of the importance of toilets in their houses and assistance being provided by various govt agencies for the said purpose. Several local youth also intended to extend a helping hand to the students and teachers of the college in making the area clean and hygienic.
