Jammu, Dec 13: The Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Akademy awarded Babu Parmanand National Award 2016 to Justice V. H.Bhairavia, former judge of Gujarat High Court. The award was given in All India Dalit Writer's 32nd Annual Conference held on 11-12 Dec. 2016.
The award was presented by Sangpriya Gautam, former union minister and a living associate of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, S.P Sumnakashar International President BDSA and Sudesh Kumari President BDSA J&K, in presence of Rajinder Prashad, Babu ji's son and H.R. Phonsa, a prominent J&K Dalit writer. The annual Dalit Writer's conference was attended by over 5500 delegates from all over the country. Delegations from UK, Nepal and some other foreign countries also attended the function and were awarded for their contribution to social justice.
All those who addressed the gathering praised the services rendered by Babu Parmanand in different capacities. |
