Cops fume as top officials oblige blue-eyed boys | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 12: Resentment is brewing in the police department as policemen, who neither have money nor political power, are allegedly looked down upon and ignored by the senior officers.
Cops, without any backing, being treated shabbily has pushed them to wall and they are waiting for a chance to rebel, sources told Early Times.
According to policemen, there is no transfer policy as result of which PHQ, ZPHQ and RPHQs have been following appeasement policy and those who have influence get even pre-mature transfers to their home districts or choice postings where as deserving feel dumped and forgotten.
There are series of examples of such influential officials and officers who have maximum tenure in Jammu or in home districts in between 5-15 years. It clearly indicates that influential cops having political backing and money power play a vital role in police service. It also shows that there is no transfer policy for majority of policemen.

Jammu, Mar 12: A senior police officer did not like SHOs of two police stations of Jammu and had been finding fault with their style of working.
As he was not getting a convincing reason to replace them with his own men, he ordered their attachment with DPL and posted there IPS and KPS trainee officers. After their trainee period was over, he would post his 'blue eyed' SHOs at the two police stations, thus getting rid of the two 'unfavourite' SHOs.

Srinagar, Mar: 12: After a long and unanticipated dry spell in the valley during the harshest period of Chillai-Kalan, Kashmir witnessed fresh incessant rainfall from Friday morning. The downpour brought minimum temperature down across the valley as people heaved a sigh relief.
The weather department had predicted moderate to heavy downpour for the next three days and urged people to exercise caution. Fresh rains are expected to continue till March 14 while as snowfall is also expected in higher reaches of the valley.
