SRINAGAR, Apr 3: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President, Mehbooba Mufti is all set to create a record of sorts as she dons the mantle of Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir on Monday at Jammu, winter capital of the State.
Mehbooba would be sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of the State by Governor Narendra Nath Vohra in the morning on Monday. The swearing in ceremony of the new Chief Minister would be held at the Raj Bhawan and it is scheduled to start at11 AM. Mehbooba would achieve the distinction of being the first woman Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir.
The PDP President would be only the second Muslim woman of the country to assume the role of Chief Minister in any State. Syeda Anwara Taimur was the first Muslim woman Chief Minister of the country. Anwara was the Chief Minister of Assam for about seven months from December 6, 1980 to June 30, 1981.

SRINAGAR, Apr 3: A cop was injured on Sunday in South Kashmir after suspected militants opened fire.
Reports and sources said that a Head Constable of J&K Police was injured when unidentified gunmen attacked a police party in Pulwama.

They said Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief GA Mir and Congress legislators have been invited for the swearing-in ceremony but have decided to stay away from it.
