Pak targets six forward posts in Poonch Ceasefire Violation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 23: Violating ceasefire for the fifth time this month, Pak Army today fired at six forward Indian positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sub-sector of Poonch.
Four rockets were also fired by the enemy troops, but these exploded in no man's land causing no harm to life and property of either army or civilians, official sources said.
Sources said Pak troops opened the mouth of their guns from their Dakku and Peeple border posts at about 9.05 am, targetting Kranti, Chajja Maan, Gorda, Kripan, Balnoie and Mankote forward Indian posts.
India retaliated. A heavy exchange of small arms fire continued between the two sides up to about 10.30 am, the sources added. Four rockets fired from across the LoC exploded in the vicinity of Maan post, but these caused no harm.

decision on his execution.
"Afzal Guru is in the queue (of mercy petitions in the president's office). Nobody will be expedited," Pillai said, denying reports that the government may consider a fast-track decision on Guru's fate.

| | Several mines explode in fire on LoC | | | JAMMU: As fire last night spread from across the Line of Control (LoC) to Keri in Rajouri, several landmines exploded, clearing a large chunk of the border land of them.
Fire erupted on the Pakistan side of forest along LoC and spread to Indian side in Keri sector of Rajouri late last night, official sources said.
Several mines exploded as a result of the fire, the sources added.Security forces and forest officials later controlled the forest fire.
Sources said a forward post was also partially damaged in the fire. There was, however, no loss of life or injury to anyone, the sources added.

| | Massive fire in Reasi hills | | | JAMMU: Four days after Trikuta Hills in Katra became victim of a blaze, a massive forest fire broke out in the nearby Reasi hills ahead of Mari village.
The fire started from compartment No 34 late last night and soon spread to the adjoining at least two compartments, engulfing a total forest area of over 30 hectares, official sources said.
