Mainstream politicians 'glorify' separatists, APD faces humiliation | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sep 4: The visit of All Party Delegation to Kashmir failing to break the ice has sent the advocates of separatists into tizzy as separatists didn't show any inclination towards holding talks with the APD members.
Since the day unrest has gripped Kashmir, almost all the opposition parties, including National Conference, Congress, CPI (M), Peoples Democratic Front and others had been demanding that separatists in Kashmir should be taken on board to resolve the Kashmir crisis. "By giving undue importance to Geelani and company mainstream parties dented their credibility and proved that elected representatives have no say in Kashmir," said an analyst.
He said, "Mainstream politicians not taking any initiative to resolve the present Kashmir crisis has glorified the separatists and have declared them as the only leaders in Kashmir. The MLAs rather than advocating the cause of separatists should have cut across the party lines and should have at least made an attempt to reach out to common masses. Had they done so they could have been in a position to ne...

Jammu, Sept 4: Separatists refusing to meet the All Party Delegation (APD) in Srinagar on Sunday has proved that these so-called 'well wishers' of Kashmiris have got nothing to do with the people and they follow the diktats of their masters sitting in Pakistan and PoK.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "Separatists have lost a golden chance to talk. Leaders from across India had come to their door step with a peace offer. They have spurned it to keep their bosses, sitting across the LoC, in good books. Refusal of the separatists to meet the APD leaders would mean that Delhi has got only one option left that it would have to diffuse the present crisis in K...

| | Time to stop terming Mirwaiz as moderate | Pandering to regressive forces | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sep 4: It is time to stop terming APHC-M chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and his outfit "moderate". Mirwaiz is not "moderate". He is more fanatic than APHC-M chairman and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. In fact, he is more dangerous than Geelani and other Kashmiri separatists. He is more dangerous like certain "mainstream" Kashmiri leaders who masquerade as "sane" elements in the Kashmiri society seeking settlement of the so-called Kashmir issue through discussion and dialogue in the sense that he speaks in different languages. Geelani is dangerous but not that dangerous because his views are too well-known; because he says things without mincing word...
| | 30% schools lack electricity, reveals MHRD survey | JK schools celebrate Teachers' Day in darkness | | Peerzada Ummer
Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sept 4: J&K has little reason to celebrate the Teachers' Day given the worsening scenario of education in the state.
The Teachers' Day is celebrated on the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, an eminent Indian teacher, philosopher and statesman who served as the first Vice President of India (1952-1962) and the second President of India (1962 to 1967).
However, J&K would be perhaps among the very few states wherein even in 21st century most of the schools lack electricity. This also goes contrary to the claims of the present day dispensation about making the world around us 'digital'.
Surveys conducted by the Union Ministry of Human...
