'Scholarship scandal' surfaces in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University | Scholarship amount transferred to fake accounts | | Akshay Azad

Jammu, May 22: A major scholarship scandal has surfaced in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), wherein the scholarship amount had reportedly gone to some fake accounts by the active involvement of some higher officials of varsity, thus depriving the deserving students of their legitimate due.
Sources informed Early Times that following repeated complaints of scholarship embezzlement, a team was constituted by Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education department to ascertain the veracity of complaints.
The enquiry team comprising Director Colleges in Higher Education Department Tariq Ahmad Kawoosa and an official of Accounts cadre Kumarji Raina were ordered by department to conduct an enquiry.
"Director Colleges office is presently in civil secretariat, but on Wednesday, May 20, the enquiry team reached Jammu and on May 21, they visited BGSBU Rajouri campus and thoroughly checked the files and records pertaining to scholarship", sources said.
