NEW DELHI, June 18: The long wait is over as the Planning Commission has finally sanctioned the annual on the lines what J&K government had asked for.Annual plan at Rs 6000 cr and with a firm commitment from the Planning Commission for full funding of the annual plan, the NC led coalition government has all the reasons to feel upbeat and more than satisfied.The joy is doubled by the fact that Planning Commission has conveyed its deep appreciation of the efforts being put in by the Coalition Government led by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for translating development measures into concrete and positive outcomes.

Whorehouse raided, five girls among 10 held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 18: Busting a sex-racket, police today raided a whorehouse at Bilal Colony near Sunjawan and arrested five men and as many girls, besides a lady kingpin, from there.
When cops swooped in on the alleged bawdyhouse at about 2.30 pm, the accused were found in compromising position, police sources said. The arrested men were identified as Sandeep Magotra of Panjtirthi, Vijay Sharma of Shiv Nagar, Rajeev Kumar of Sunderbani, Rajouri, and Amit and Vishal, both residents of Himachal Pradesh.

JAMMU, June 18: The Bilal Colony residents have hailed the police raid on the brothel being run in the locality allegedly by a Himachal woman.As soon as the cops forced their entry into the house by breaking doors open and took the accused, including the Himachal woman, into custody, locals came out of their houses and lauded the police action.A local said the raid was conducted after they lodged a complaint with police in this regard. "We are happy that cops arrived soon after we contacted them," he added. Another local said the woman's activities had polluted the atmosphere in the locality.

JAMMU, June 18: The Jammu Bar Association has decided to suspend work for three days starting June 22 to press its demand for extending summer vacations in District Courts from two weeks to three weeks at par with Summer Vacations in High Courts.
The high court goes to vacation for 10 weeks while as the district courts get just two weeks to relax in scorching heat.
According to General Secretary BAJ, Advocate Rajesh Thappa, a request to this effect was sent to the high court which has not been considered till date. Bar Association also requested other bar associations to suspend work. (JNF)

Two of the accused were identified as Abid Hussain of Jaman and Mukhtiyar.
