Ahmed Ali Fayyaz Early Times Report Srinagar, July 30: In fresh spate of mob attacks on Police and violent clashes between demonstrators and armed forces, three more civilians have died and around 300 sustained injuries---two of them critically---as Kashmir valley witnessed yet another separatist-sponsored shutdown and state-enforced curfew today. With the violent mobs torching a Police Station and a Police vehicle in Pattan area of Baramulla district today, authorities have re-imposed curfew in capital city of Srinagar as also some other major towns in apprehension of further escalation in violence and street clashes. Even as the state Police was in complete disarray and both, headless department of Information as well as the Police headquarters, remained tightlipped, informed sources told Early Times that three civilians got killed and two more, with critical injuries, were battling for life at SKIMS. Early Times Report KATHUA, July 30: Deputy commissioner (DC) Sanjeev Verma and SSP Gareeb Dass today examined with a great care files and other documents of Met Trade India Ltd, which is in the eye of the storm since Tuesday last when its 70 kg gold biscuits were seized at Rajpura in Punjab. The SSP later said they were still in the process of examining the files of the company. "As and when we detect tax evasion, or any unlawful processing of gold, we will take legal action against the Met Trade management," he asserted. Early Times Report Jammu, July 30: The Jammu and Kashmir is emerging as a key contributor to the hydro power generation in the country. With some hydro power projects nearing completion in the state, NHPC plans to augument hydro electricity generating capacity to over 10,000 MW by the end of the current XIth Five Year Plan (2007-12) in the country. NHPC is the country's largest hydro producing company with an installed capacity of 5,295 MW after the commissioning of its 120 ME Sewa-II project in the state last week. Early Times Report Jammu, July 30: Prominent broadcaster, Zeeshan Fazil was acquitted by special CBI judge at New Delhi yesterday. He along with other Kashmiri artists were facing charges of favouring the artists with excessive payment. Fazil had produced and directed the seven-episode musical series ‘Sham-e-Kashmir’ for Doordarshan’s Central production Centre (CPC) in January 1999. Accusing Fazil and some other Doordarshan officials including then Director CPC, R P Mathur of favouring Kashmiri artists with excess payment, a case was filed against them in December 2000.
