New Delhi-Mehbooba discuss more powers to Army Kashmir Unrest 8/9/2016 12:06:58 AM Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 8: Even as the state police recently admitted that there was no change in the ground situation in Kashmir unrest since the killing of militant commander Burhan Wani, New Delhi on Monday discussed with the state government, the options of giving more powers to Army for restoration of law and order. Highly placed sources said this morning during Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during his meeting with Home Minister Rajnath Singh, apart from other things, discussed preparedness of the Army and other security forces to counter any eventuality in Kashmir. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was also present at the meeting. Later in the day, Home Minister convened a high-level meeting in New Delhi to discuss the issue. Besides the Home Minister, the meeting was attended by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, MoS in PMO Jitendra Singh, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, among others.
