BJP proposes, Sajjad Lone opposes | Minority status for JK Hindus | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 24: Separatist turned mainstream politician Sajjad Gani Lone opposing the demand to give minority status to Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir has once again proved that saffron party is not interested in fighting for the issues which touch the skin of a common man in Jammu.
Responding to a clubbed query of BJP MLCs Vibodh Gupta, Dhramvir Singh and Charanjeet Singh whether the state government intends to set up a minority commission, Sajjad Lone said there is no such proposal.
Sources told Early Times the BJP legislators had raked up the issue of providing minority status to Hindu community in JK after informing the party high command well in advance. "It was expected that the Social Welfare minister, Sajjad Gani Lone who was inducted into the cabinet from the BJP quota, would give a satisfactory reply and set the ball rolling for the process.
