Akbar Lone embarrasses Omar Abdullah over anti Sajad Lone statement | Exposes loopholes in National Conference | | Jehangir Rashid

SRINAGAR, June 28: National Conference working President and former chief minister, Omar Abdullah faced an embarrassing situation the other day when one of his trusted lieutenants distanced himself from the statement of Omar which he made with respect to Minister for Science & Technology and Animal Husbandry Sajad Gani Lone.
Omar had in statement said that Sajad is a 'turncoat' and his life is full of turns made for personal benefits. However, Omar's trusted lieutenant and MLA Sonawari, Mohammad Akbar Lone distanced himself from his working president's statement. Heon Saturday said that since he was busy in the board meeting of Bandipora he does not know anything about the statement.
The former Minister for Higher Education said that he would not like to be part of the statement which has been issued in his absence. This assertion from Akbar, who is a former speaker of the legislative assembly goes against the party politics and does not augur well for the future of National Conference.

Srinagar, June 28: Taking strong exception to the statement attributed to them, a major chunk of senior National Conference leaders Sundaydistanced themselves from the handout issued by the party spokesman, Junaid Azim Mattu against PC chairman and Minister Sajad Gani Lone.
The senior NC leaders including Mohammad Shafi Uri, Shareef-ud-Din Shariq, Mir Saif-ullah and Qaiser Jamsheed Lone told a Srinagar based news agency on Sunday that they had not issued any statement against Lone.
