12th class results expose corrupt education system!
6/7/2015 12:26:30 AM
Syed Junaid Hashmi Early Times Report JAMMU, June 6: Pointing towards alleged callousness and huge corruption in permitting higher secondary education in staff and infrastructure deficient private schools, 20 private schools have registered zero percent results in the recently declared 12th class results of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE). What could be termed as heart warming for the state education department is the fact that against 20 private schools, just two government schools namely Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Camp Nagrota in Jammu District and Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Panassa in Reasi district have registered zero percent result. 9 government schools failed to register pass percentage of 10 percent or more. These include Government Higher School Jindrah (8 percent), Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Shein in Bishnah (9 percent), Government Higher Secondary School Dhargloon (7 percent) and Government Higher Secondary School Ghani (5 percent) and GHSS Mankote (6 percent) in Poonch, Govt Girls Higher Secondar...

When Jammu was burning, BJP ministers, leaders were hiding at unknown destinations
6/7/2015 12:26:12 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, June 6: Callous attitude of BJP leadership was reflected on Friday as none of the party minister was present at Jammu when city was on fire due to protest by groups of Sikhs. Instead of playing the role as elected representatives of the people, BJP ministers skirted their responsibilities and gave all authorities to the administration to hold talks with the representatives of the Sikh organisations. Credible sources said that none of the BJP minister or elected representative of the party was ready to participate in the talks because they lack vision and conviction to reach at an agreement with the agitating groups. "Some senior officers asked some BJP ministers...

Reports said Andrabi has issued hundreds of transfer orders of the teachers, most of them married, in the past few days. Teachers who were ought to discharge their duties in schools are seen nowadays waiting in queues in the Civil Secretariat to get their orders revoked. "The transfers were done in the name of 'rationalization' but they will add to the rampant corruption in the state, as now we will have to bribe the babus to get the orders revo...

6/7/2015 12:20:11 AM
Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 6: The first three months of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) government in the state have proved to be 'disappointing' for the people since no visible change is found in the air and on the ground. From day one the state government has been hogged by controversies with PDP and BJP leaders exchanging barbs on many occasions. Many issues have been projected by the coalition partners in their own way while responding to their electorate. While as in Kashmir the people are unhappy over the tardy progress in rehabilitation of flood affected people the people of Jammu are critical of the government more so BJP ...

6/6/2015 11:57:31 PM
Wrong feedback hits developmental works, PDP fumes Fazal Khan Early Times Report srinagar, June 6: As Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing one of the worst financial crunches, the BJP state leaders have ostensibly provided "wrong feedback" to the central leadership and have asked it not to go out of way while providing funds to the state government. The Early Times has learnt the BJP state leaders have informed the high command that it should refrain from sending funds to the state on demand as the funds meant for people are "swindled" by the powerful people. Fearing backlash, Hurriyats speak less on Kashmir, more on Burma
Revolt in Hizb silences separatists?
6/6/2015 11:57:09 PM
Early Times Report srinagar, June 6: Fearing backlash from the new breed of militants, the separatists in Kashmir have suddenly stopped confronting the former even as there are reports of a revolt in Hizbul Mujahideen outfit. Apparently scared, the separatists have gone for a change in their stands. For now, the separatists prefer speaking on soft issues like "massacre of Muslims in Rohingya at the hands of some Buddhist extremists". Pakistan-backed Syed Ali Geelani and his ilk, who recently issued statements against an unknown outfit Lashkar-i-Islam for targeting mobile communication network, are now giving a second thought. Geelani's trusted lieutenant, Dukhtaran-e-Millat chairperso...

6/6/2015 11:21:18 PM
G S Asgotra Early Times Report Jammu, June 6: Lackadaisical approach of coalition government could be gauged from the fact that the old age pensioners under Integrated Social Service Scheme (ISSS) have been waiting for their pensions for the last more than one year while the Social Welfare Department (SWD) rather than redressing the issue has been forcing this marginalized community to run from pillar to post. Source in the department informed Early Times that due to careless attitude of the department concerned, the previous' year funds under ISSS, to the tune of nearly Rs 4 Crore had got lapsed, as a result of which the old age pensions were not paid to beneficiaries.
