JAMMU, Aug 22: In the MBBS/BDS entrance exam impersonation case in which his daughter Huma Tabassum is held an accused, works minister GM Saroori, who is supposed to be a torchbearer, has undoubtedly landed in trouble and may have to quit.
Another politician, who has got into trouble, is NC leader and former minister Rampal whose son Lovish Bharat has too been held an accused in the racket.
Both Saroori and Rampal were alleged to have facilitated the impersonation for their minor wards, who otherwise would not have dared to take such a step.
Seven outsiders were found impersonating Tabassum, Lovish and five other candidates of "influential" families, including Areeshi Kiran, daughter of Ajeet Kumar of Roopnagar, Takshay of Shivam Enclave (New Delhi), Sneh of Greater Kailash (New Delhi), Mohammad Sadiq of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh and Rajiv Kumar of Bihar.
While Shruti Gour took the test for Tabassum, Mobeen Akhtar appeared for Lovish.

JAMMU, Aug 22: Even a cloudburst today occured on the rear side of the holy Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas, washing away at least three tents, the last batch of 77 pilgrims left Jammu for the pilgrimage in the morning.
There was, however, no casualty and all the pilgrims and security personnel were safe, official sources said.
"A cloudburst was reported to have hit the rear side of the holy cave shrine in the afternoon, triggering a sudden rise in the water-level of the nearby stream," the sources added.
Sources said three tents were damaged in the incident but there was no loss of life as pilgrims were evacuated to safety.

JAMMU,Aug 22: To check infiltration from across the International Border (IB), the district magistrate today imposed night curfew in the border RS Pura area.
The authorities have imposed night curfew for two months to prevent movement of anti-national elements, according to official sources.In an order, the district magistrate has restricted the movement of any person or persons from 10 pm to 5 am.

JAMMU,Aug 22: Following a bomb hoax, vehicular traffic was disrupted on the national highway at Digdol near Banihal, about 172 km from here, this morning.
Answering an emergency call that a bomb like object was lying by the roadside, army troops immediately reached the spot and stopped the flow of vehicular traffic from both sides.
Official sources said the troops noticed a bomb-like object which was half buried in the road.
Exercising all precautions, troops dug out the object which turned out to be a LPG cylinder wrapped in a polythene bag, the sources added.
After the area was declared safe, army allowed the vehicles to move on the highway.

JAMMU,Aug 22: An army Lieutenant Colonel has been dismissed from service and awarded three years' rigorous imprisonment by a General Court Martial (GCM) which found him guilty of irregularities in procurement of milk powder.
The GCM found Lt Col Kuldeep Singh of Military Farms guilty of irregularities in the procurement of skimmed milk powder worth over Rs 10 cr in Northern Command in Jammu and Kashmir during 'Operation Parakram' and dismissed him from service Wednesday.
Defence PRO, Lt Col Biplav Nath said Lt Col Singh was cashiered and awarded three years' rigorous imprisonment by the GCM.
