TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Mehbooba's silence makes BJP restless
By disowning Beg's statement PDP keeps options open
1/14/2016 12:00:08 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 13: With the every passing day, heartbeat of BJP leaders is increasing as PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has not shown any eagerness to form the government with the former. BJP leaders at every public function are trying to give an impression that PDP has unofficially given its consent to form the government and the coalition would be formed within days. Credible sources in the corridors of power revealed that as of now, PDP leadership has not taken any decision to form government with BJP. Unlike BJP leaders, PDP leadership is showing maturity by not giving any statement on government formation. BJP leaders, on the other hand, are giving statements after every minute regarding government formation but the party (BJP) has not received any response from its earlier coalition partner PDP. By disowning statement of its spokesman Dr Mehboob Beg, PDP leadership has once again fuelled speculations that something else is cooking. PDP leadership is giving an impression that attaining power is not priority of the party so they are taking time to take a deci...

Will PDP president ignore party opinion?
1/13/2016 11:59:59 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 13: While the desperate-for-power and fundamentally "anti-Jammu" and anti-Hindu" BJP wants to serve under the Mehbooba Mufti, the PDP president, who is being considered the next chief minister of J&K, is in a fix. She is in a dilemma. The reason is that an overwhelming majority of PDP leaders, including MP Tariq Hameed Karra, and workers want her to tell the BJP that she will not enter into an alliance with the "saffron" outfit. Reports from Srinagar suggest that "around 80 per cent" of the PDP leaders wanted to break all ties with the BJP, as the alliance with the rightwing party hurt the PDP more in the Valley and gave an opportunity to the NC to tarnish th...

1/13/2016 11:59:52 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 13: As the stalemate over formation of new Government continues, a game of one up manship has begun between the two erstwhile allies PDP and BJP with both now ready to buckle under each other's pressure. Persistence of stalemate is likely to push the situation towards dissolution of the Assembly paving way for fresh elections, is the fresh option in existing situation. Sources said as the air is not yet clear as to how long Mehbooba Mufti would take to respond to BJP's call f...

No one speaks for oppressed Jammuites
Kashmir, Kashmir and Kashmir
1/13/2016 11:59:44 PM
ET Report JAMMU, Jan 13: The oppressed and suppressed people of Jammu province are the most unfortunate segment of the Indian society, despite the fact that they constitute the nation's backbone in the separatist and militant-infested J&K and contribute more revenue to the State exchequer. There is none in New Delhi who is prepared to speak for them. They only talk Kashmir, Kashmir and Kashmir and the Kashmiri "alienation" and the Kashmiri constituency. Even the BJP, which won 25 seats from Jammu, hates to speak for the people of the region. The worst part of the whole situation is that even the opinion makers speak only for Kashmir and Kashmiri alienation. The TV debates on the Governmen...
