'Opportunistic' BJP wants rotational CM, more Ministries | Mufti's failing health | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 30: Amid speculations that Jammu and Kashmir may witness change in guard as doctors have advised the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to take rest, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders are trying their best to take advantage of the emerging situation.
Sources told Early Times a few BJP leaders have informed the party high command to strike a better deal with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which could prove beneficial for the BJP.
Sources revealed that official confirmation about Mufti not being well is making BJP leaders believe that PDP may announce the change of guard in the state and Mufti's daughter, Mehbooba Mufti, who is also the PDP President, may don the shoes of her father.
However, PDP youth president Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra while talking to Early Times said, "Mufti Sayeed is absolutely fine and much better than before. We hope he would recover soon and take the charge."
Insiders said that BJP leaders want the high command to make PDP agree to rotate the Chief Minister's post after 3-years if there is change of guard in the sta...

It appeared the BJP under Narendra Modi would replicate 2014 in 2015 as well, but what happened was to the contrary. 2015 turned out to be a year of massive and humiliating defeats for the BJP. January 2015 saw the BJP biting dust in the Delhi Assembly elections. The BJP could win only a pal...
| | Power or credibility: BJP in political quagmire | | | Abodh Sharma
ET Report
jammu, Dec 30: The judgment of the State High Court has brought the saffron party to the cross roads of its political journey in J&K, where it assumed power for the first time in coalition with ideologically opposed PDP. It can either walk out from the coalition advocating that it cannot make a complete somersault from its known position on dual flag or try to hoodwink public opinion through meek, unconvincing statements of its leaders.
The party has evidently chosen the convenient second option to stay in power, but the statements of party leaders are sounding disgustingly unpersuasive. "No flag can be leveled equal to the national flag. It is a decision of the H...
