Governor N N Vohra on his way out | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 17: Former bureaucrat N N Vohra is on his way out as Governor of the Jammu and Kashmir State amidst reports that the Union Home Ministry has taken a final decision in this regard.
The ongoing second tenure of Mr Vohra, who was appointed as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir for a fresh five-year term e on April 13, 2013, was to complete in 2018. He had taken over as Governor of the state in 2008 when the agitation over land use in Amarnath had led to heightened tensions and collapse of then Ghulam Nabi Azad led Congress-PDP Government.
According to the highly placed official sources, the Union Home Ministry has finalized the decision regarding replacement of Governor N N Vohra with some person of ruling BJP choice for long term strategies in the highly sensitive militancy infested State.
The Home Ministry has also shortlisted some names as would be successor of Mr Vohra and a more clear picture is likely to emerge in next few days.

srinagar, Sept 17: In a shocking development, the police intercepted the Vehicle of Law Secretary, Muhammad Ashraf Mir outside his Civil Secretariat office and took him to Shaheed Gunj Police station.

Jammu, Sept 17: Bringing embarrassment to the PDP-BJP coalition Government in the state, the World Bank has ranked J&K among the worst Indian states for doing business.
In the list of 32 states of the country, J&K stood at 29th rank with 5.93% score and only three states are behind it. Gujarat stood at first rank with 71.14% score in the status of implementation of the 98-point reforms agenda.
The assessment was recorded by World Bank over a six month period from January to June 2015 since the PDP-BJP alliance assumed office.
According to the rank-wise list, only Meghalaya (4.38 %), Nagaland (3.41 %) and Arunachal Pradesh (1.23 %) are behind J&K.
