Srinagar, Mar 28: Breaking all previous records of Master Plan violations in Srinagar, the authorities here are allowing biggest ever illegal constructions as huge as 30,000 sft multi-storied malls and flatted accommodation in the summer capital.
At a time when the administration has been on toes in the Governor’s rule, the Srinagar Development Authority and the Srinagar Municipal Corporation, which are the main enforcing agencies for the Master Plan, seem to have scaled new heights of alleged corruption.
Near Nowgam crossing, on the Srinagar-Jammu highway, the SDA has allowed a private party to construct the "biggest ever shopping mall" in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said the SDA officials charged Rs 20 lakhs "Hafta" for every floor of the construction while three floors of this building were constructed in the last two months of Governor's rule.

Srinagar, Mar 28 : Taking note of hundreds of enquiries related to corruption that were referred by it to government departments and are pending for months, the the State Vigilance Commission has directed departmental heads to act on outcome of complaints on fast track basis.
According to the official figures, the SVC has received 3353 complaints for the last three years of which 985 were received in 2013, 1168 in 2014 and 1200 in 2015.
Of the 3353 cases, 2928 have been disposed-off for further course of action. However, there has been poor response from departments to take action on the SVC enquiries.
